The Shattering of Aethelgard: Silent Years has a broad, mature gameplay foundation. Most of its major systems are already in place, but having those systems in place is not the finish line for the game.
A substantial life-sim foundation
The current game brings together everyday condition and wellbeing, work and contracts, local currencies and trade, housing and inns, gathering, crafting and construction, inventory and equipment, travel between cities, skills and traits, practical magic, civic services, investment markets and recurring city activity.
An in-game Traveler's Codex already gathers guidance across the major player systems, helping players understand the different ways they can live and progress within Aethelgard.
What the next phase is about
Silent Years is now undergoing substantial production refinement. Current priorities include interface and usability refinement, character presentation, music and audio, final visual assets, balancing, testing and the broader polish needed to make the complete experience feel coherent and finished.
Silent Years has a well-established gameplay foundation, but it is not yet release-ready. Its release order relative to Farfound remains open and will be determined by which game reaches the intended quality standard first.
The preferred release plan targets both Aethelgard games for Q2 2027. If the projects follow separate windows instead, one is currently planned around Q1 2027 and the other around Q3 2027. These remain development targets, not confirmed release dates.
