The silent suspect

Voltanis exploited Noctarion’s association with endings and the void to make him appear responsible for a secret pact with Chaos. Under the Council’s suspicion and intense magical scrutiny, Noctarion remained characteristically silent, a response that was mistaken for guilt.

Even after Astraia’s imprisonment weakened the case against him, the Council still distrusted Noctarion. He supported Ordinus’s initial restraint but urged that Astraia’s rune be recovered from Voltanis before the crisis became irreversible. The task was instead given to Viridar.

Cycle II · Edict 3347

The judgment of Ragnarok

When Viridar betrayed Voltanis, Noctarion descended outside Arcanum with Saphel and Astraia. As Voltanis fought to escape Saphel’s prison, Noctarion invoked the Tier Five law of Absolute Ending and froze the Khaotari lord’s time, space and energy in place.

He recovered Astraia’s rune and broke the Chaos binding around it, restoring her power. After Voltanis was erased, Noctarion struck Viridar with a weakened form of the same law, but she escaped by destroying part of her own essence.

Cycle II · Edict 3348–3351

The hunter’s new task

After the war, Noctarion swept across the continent destroying the Bio-Construct armies Viridar had left behind, reducing them to dust wherever his moving shadow passed.

He later sat among Astraia’s judges. When the trial ended, Ordinus ordered him to hunt Viridar until the fugitive could be returned for judgment. That pursuit remains his task as the world approaches Edict 3601.
