Zephyr was the Aerie Folk leader whose refusal to embrace Chaos carried him from the defence of Skyreach into exile, surrender, liberation and a final life devoted to rebuilding his divided people.

Cycle II · Edict 3306–3310
Zephyr commanded Skyreach’s defence when Velorax brought the Dragonkin air force against the city. He later refused Voltanis’s offer of power, distrusting Chaos and the Shade Weavers who served it.
Most of his own people turned against that decision. Zephyr was removed from power and driven into exile, taking a smaller group of loyal Aerie Folk to Concordia, where they joined the Conclave of Order’s Light alongside Magicians and Chroniclers.
Cycle II · Edict 3330–3346
As Concordia collapsed from internal conflict, Zephyr led the alliance’s surviving air strength south toward Aetheria in a last attempt to break the Chaos position.
At the Great Salt Flats he found himself fighting Aerie Folk who had joined Voltanis. Rather than continue a slaughter between kin, he ordered a surrender to preserve the remaining loyalists. Zephyr and the survivors were taken to Khaosgard as prisoners.
Cycle II · Edict 3350–3351
After Ragnarok, Ordinus freed Zephyr from Khaosgard and returned him to Skyreach. Zephyr later attended the divine judgment as a representative of the Aerie Folk.
When Ordinus offered sanctuary in Aethelos, Zephyr refused. He chose to remain in the mortal world, rebuild Skyreach and care for the people who had survived, although his specific memories of the judgment were later erased.
Cycle II · Edict 3400–3450
In the years after his return, Zephyr worked to heal the schism among the Aerie Folk, repair Skyreach and strengthen its defences. His final reign was peaceful compared with the wars that had defined his earlier life.
He eventually died of old age, around Edicts 3400–3450, after passing leadership to High Matriarch Ayla Cloudwing.
