Historical account

A second wound

Xylos’s Terraforming had already torn the western edge of Veridia apart, and the Celestial War had battered what remained. In the war’s immediate legacy, Khaotari spellcasters added a different kind of devastation: a Plague Curse intended to deny the Aeterna any easy use of the former Veridian lands.

The Sunken Coast

The curse spread through the surviving Veridian Shore, corrupting soil, air, and water. Fertile country became barren and miasma-ridden, while the ruins of the First City were left amid a landscape that could no longer support ordinary life. The physical Sundering and the later magical corruption together created the region later known as the Sunken Coast.

Historical significance

What changed here

The war ends, but its geography does not heal with the ceasefire. The Sunken Coast becomes one of the clearest examples of history remaining physically present in Aethelgard’s modern map.
