Historical account
War declared
After Xylos’s death, the Khaotari declared war on the Aeterna. The conflict immediately divided the Tier III powers: most Abrogators joined the Khaotari, while the Chroniclers fractured between reluctant support, conscientious withdrawal, and attempts to preserve the Elder Weave. Mortal peoples fled Veridia and the Veridian Shore in a mass exodus, though many were caught before they could escape the first celestial barrages.
A world in agony
Voltanis gathered the Sundering Host while Archon Solara organised the Harmonious Vanguard. Their armies fought with Tier III and Tier IV magic powerful enough to scorch landscapes, break mountains, boil waters, and further ruin Veridia. The war reached its climax in Edicts 1401–1450, when even Solara and Voltanis could not decisively destroy one another. A final coordinated Aeterna assault forced Voltanis and the surviving Khaotari to retreat, leaving the victors exhausted and grievously diminished.
Historical significance
What changed here
The First Celestial War transforms a young civilisation into a scarred world. It destroys Veridia as a functioning city, makes the highest Celestials far rarer, and leaves mortal survivors to rebuild in the shadow of powers they can neither control nor fully escape.
