Historical account

Victory divides the victors

The devastation of the First Celestial War forced the surviving Aeterna to confront what their victory had cost. Archon Solara began to question whether the pursuit of absolute order had itself helped create the catastrophe, and a significant group followed her toward a quieter philosophy of guardianship and restraint.

Guidance or control

Other Aeterna reached the opposite conclusion. To them, the destruction proved that mortal and Khaotari independence required stronger supervision, not less. They remained active in the mortal world, pressuring settlements to conform to Aeterna ideas of stability and treating autonomous cities and hidden peoples as dangerous variables. The Aeterna were no longer a single political force, even though both sides still spoke in the language of order.

Historical significance

What changed here

This schism creates the ideological space in which hardline Aeterna authority can become increasingly coercive, while Solara’s faction becomes a separate counterweight to that vision.
