Historical account
An army made, not raised
By the twenty-seventh century of Cycle II, Valitra’s hardline Aeterna faced a practical problem: their numbers were too small to impose order across the continent. Her answer was to create the force she lacked. Using Aetheric Reconstitution, she shaped tireless crystalline bodies from magical energy and hard mineral matter.
Order without consent
Valitra then used Fateweaving Cascade to shape the new beings’ consciousness around obedience. The Crystalforged needed neither food nor sleep, resisted much conventional magic, and were created without the fear, doubt, or freedom that might make soldiers refuse a command. Organised into disciplined phalanxes, they gave the Aeterna a standing army capable of turning political pressure into direct occupation.
Historical significance
What changed here
The Crystalforged mark the point where Aeterna intervention becomes an enforceable regime. Order is no longer merely argued, requested, or threatened—it can march across a border in formation.
