Before the world
Before recorded time, the chronicles describe only the Static Void: no land, no energy, and no conscious life. At Cycle I · Edict 0, the five consciousnesses of the Genesis Council awakened. Ordinus established the first principle of Time and Order, while Astraia defined the boundaries within which existence could take form.
Forging the World-Canvas
Across the opening 2,500 Edicts, Saphel the World-Smith gave the new reality substance. Continents and ocean basins took shape, the sun was kindled, and the Elder Weave was worked into the crust so that magic became part of the world rather than something laid over it later. Aethelgard emerged as a complete physical and magical canvas, magnificent but still barren of mortal life.

This is the first boundary of Aethelgard’s history: the moment existence becomes a world with matter, time, geography, and magic—everything later civilisation will inherit.
