War of All Species

Historical account

Total war

By Edict 3330, the Second Celestial War had crossed the threshold into a conflict fought through mortal societies as well as above them. Concordia’s internal command structure fractured, armies moved out across the Great Salt Flats, and Voltanis framed the widening conflict as a struggle in which every people would have to choose, submit, flee, or fight.

A continent of fronts

The fighting spread simultaneously across Aethelgard. The Great Salt Flats became a central battlefield; Khazad-Dur faced Khaotari assault; Abrogators moved against Arcanum and Aethelheart; Aerie Folk factions fought in the skies; Dragonkin pursued their own war of revenge; and, around Edict 3345, a major Orc warband marched west from Grolmar. Civilisations that had tried to remain distant from Celestial rivalry discovered that distance no longer offered protection.

Historical significance

What changed here

The name War of All Species reflects the change in scale: this is no longer simply another struggle between higher powers. The survival, loyalties, cities, and future of the mortal world are now part of the battlefield.
